Estate planning is an essential task for anyone who wants to assure that their assets are distributed according to their wishes after their death with minimal legal oversight and cost. Join us as attorney Peter Osman discusses Wills versus Trusts:  the specifics of and benefits/shortfalls of each and how to decide which you need.

Join us as attorney Peter Osman discusses Estate Planning - Where to Start. Peter will talk about Wills and Trusts and why someone might prefer one over the other. He'll talk about the pros/cons of each and how deciding how much control you want over your estate after you pass may lead you to choose one over the other.

Peter Osman has been a frequent speaker to UWRA, and he is back to revisit the question of Wills vs Trusts and how they work after we pass. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and is a Wisconsin-licensed estate planning attorney. He pursued his undergraduate studies at both the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, receiving his BA with honors. Peter focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and elder planning. As part of his elder planning practice, Peter received extensive training in the areas of Medicaid asset protection planning.

Peter is a member of WealthCounsel, LLC, a collaborative, nationwide network of top estate planning attorneys, as well as the Madison Estate Counsel. He is a member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Wisconsin. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, boating, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
