Join us for a Fearless Science Tour at the Morgridge Institute for Research – a private, nonprofit research institute dedicated to interdisciplinary biomedical research in partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Madison. (Note: The Morgridge Institute for Research and the Wisconsin Discovery Institute are housed in the same building.)

The tour will begin and end in the Orchard View Room on the 3rd floor of the Wisconsin Discovery building.  Map highlights location of public elevator (behind Aldo’s Café).

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the breakthrough biomedical research and what lies ahead.

We’ll begin with a general overview of the Morgridge Institute from CEO Brad Schwartz. Next, we’ll head out across the institute to meet scientists and staff, hear about their research, and learn how their work fits into the broader mission of their labs. To conclude, a principal investigator will share the journey of choosing to launch a lab at Morgridge and what drives the research.

Transportation & Parking Information

This is a self-drive event.  Participants are responsible for transportation and parking.

The Discovery Building is located near several city of Madison Metro Transit bus stops and UW-Madison bicycle routes.

Although onsite parking is not available, three UW-managed lots (1720 and 80) are nearby. Due to construction around the engineering campus and Randall Ave.Lot 17 is only accessible from the north (University Ave. & Johnson St.) and has a different, less direct (but clearly marked!) walking route to the Discovery Building. However, it seems that Lot 17 usually has more open parking spaces than the other two nearby options. Each of the links for the three UW-managed lots (1720 and 80), has a real-time update of the number of open spaces to help plan your route as you’re headed to campus.

Attendance is limited to 50 people.
