Join us for a concert, tour, and reception at the Hamel Music Center sponsored by the UWRA Board of Directors. This is your opportunity to connect in person with fellow UWRA members.
The recital will feature Professor Emeritus Marc Fink, oboe, and Professor Emeritus Karlos Moser, piano, in a 30-minute program of music by Haydn, JS Bach, Poulenc, and Mozart followed by a tour of the beautiful Hamel Center, and a catered reception.
Marc Fink was faculty member of the Mead Witter School of Music for 40 years where he taught oboe, chamber music, Music in Performance, and performed in the faculty Wingra Quintet. He performed as principal oboist in the Madison Symphony Orchestra for many years and served as president of the International Double Reed Society, hosting conferences in Madison and Banff. He has performed in festivals around the world including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tokyo, Chengdu, Birmingham, Granada, Melbourne, Paris, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Banff. Marc currently serves on the Board of Directors of UWRA.
A gifted and versatile musician, as comfortable singing a Cole Porter song as conducting an orchestra, Karlos Moser was instrumental in bringing opera to South Central Wisconsin. With University Opera, Moser expanded Wisconsin's appreciation for opera by forming a professional-quality program, which has provided students and audiences with a rich and diverse musical experience. In his career at University Opera, Moser directed or conducted more than a hundred productions.

Register online. Mailed in reservations using the Registration Form and checks are accepted. Registrations and payment must be received no later than Monday, February 19, 2024.

Please note that parking for this event will be in scarce supply with the recent closing of the Lake Street Ramp. Nearby lots include Grainger (7), Fluno Center (83), W. Johnson and Lake Street (46), Helen C White (6) and Frances Street (public). See the campus parking map. Consider carpooling or taking public transportation.

Refund Policy:
UWRA refunds an event fee if registrant cancels prior to the registration deadline. Refunds are only processed after the registration deadline if a wait-listed registrant can attend.
