Notice of the May Get IT Done was missed in the printing of the May Sifter.  Here are the details.

Getting IT Done:  Facebook Privacy and Security

    May 24, 2018

    2:30-4pm

    Oakwood University Woods, Westmorland Room

Facebook is a company valued at more than $230 Billion which offers its product free to millions of users around the world.  What is wrong with this sentence?  Just that Facebook’s real product is you.

Facebook was exposed as having misused the personal data of 87 million Facebook users, possibly including you and/or your Facebook friends.  Maybe you’ve considered deleting your Facebook account?  If so, you may want to wait for the May 24 “Getting IT Done” session, in which we will cover how to check your current Facebook exposure - what data Facebook is keeping about you and with whom it’s been shared - and detailed advice on how to protect your Facebook security and privacy in the future.  And if you still decide to delete yourself from Facebook, we’ll cover how to download a copy of everything Facebook has on you.

I hope you are as excited as I am about our move to the digital age.  It is our vision for this website to become your ‘go-to” place for UWRA information and the latest details about its activities and programs.

The automation of the application and renewal process, the ability to pay online and the ability to access information from your mobile device are among the software’s features.  Our design goal was to keep it simple, easy to use while striking a balance between emerging technologies and maintaining existing methods.   I encourage you to become familiar with the site and its features.  Visit it often.

As with the onset of spring, it is time to look forward to a new UWRA.   Join me and embrace the changes!
