Join us for another UWRA and Vernona Senior Center partnered travel opportunity to kick off your 2023 Holiday Season!
Open year-round, Pesche's Greenhouse & Gift Barn transforms into a Christmas wonderland during the winter months. They also offer a floral shop and a popular gift shop with a robust selection of everything from seasonal tea towels to decorative pots to creative yard art. The unique mix of plants, flowers, gifts, and yard and garden art draws fans from throughout the Midwest.
Pesche’s features unique gifts made in the USA. If you are still looking for that special gift for that special person in your life, you will find it here.
Then it’s off to Pier 290 for an enjoyable meal and conversations before the Santa Cruise. The meal includes a salad, choice of entree, dessert, and coffee/tea. (Cocktails, beer, soda is available at an additional personal cost). Entrees include:
Atlantic Salmon |
Pan seared salmon filet served with Chef’s choice of vegetable and potato. |
Chicken Picatta |
Lightly breaded & oven roasted with a timeless lemon-butter caper sauce and Chef’s choice of vegetable and potato. |
Tenderloin Stroganoff |
Beef tenderloin slow roasted with onions and mushrooms. Mixed with cream sauce and served over pappardelle pasta. |
Chicken Vegetable Pasta |
Bucatini, a light and hollow long noodle, grilled chicken tossed with seasonal veggies, lemon, garlic, olive oil and pommes. Served with homemade ricotta and garlic crumbs. |
Following dinner, we begin our magical journey with a walk through the Christmas Tree Festival where kids of all ages get to send their wish list directly to Santa. Then we ship off on our heated Santa Cruise Boat, decked out in holiday lights and decorations, for an enchanting 40-minute tour of holiday lights on the lake. Sneak a peek at the shoreline for Santa Claus himself and listen if your name is on the “Naughty or Nice List!” Please note the boat is accessible for boarding but the restrooms on board cannot accommodate a wheelchair.
After the cruise, we will make one " last holiday mystery stop" on our way back to Verona.
