Join us for a day in downtown Milwaukee for a tour of the Harley-Davidson Museum, lunch at the historic Milwaukee Press Club Newsroom Pub, and a visit to the Milwaukee Public Market. For the adventurous, you will have the option to ride “The Hop,” the new Milwaukee Streetcar, instead of visiting the public market.

Harley-Davidson Museum

The museum’s motorcycles and artifacts that tell the story of the Motor Company’s rich history and heritage. There will be a 45-minute guided tour, then additional time to explore on your own.

Lunch at The Newsroom Pub

The Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsroom Pub, operated by the renowned Safe House, is the home of one of the most interesting known collections of signature plaques of dignitaries, celebrities, sports figures and political figures, including most U.S. Presidents since the Club’s inception in 1885. Lunch choices are: (1) prime rib sandwich; (2) cod fish fry; or (3) The Columbian - a South American dish consisting of shredded  lettuce with beef, or smoked chicken, topped with black bean corn salsa, cheese, pico de gallo, avocado crema and chipotle ranch dressing. To make it vegan, the cheese is removed and it is served with citrus lime vinaigrette.

Milwaukee Public Market

After lunch, explore the Third Ward’s Milwaukee Public Market. Inspired by Seattle’s Pike Place Market, the space is leased primarily to local food businesses and flowers, gifts and apparel vendors.

OR

Ride "The Hop"

If you prefer, you will be able to ride this new streetcar, rather than visit the Milwaukee Public Market. The stop is directly across the street from the Milwaukee Public Market and runs on a loop through downtown and the Third Ward. The Hop has limited seating and is mostly standing room, so those choosing to ride should be aware that they may need to stand during the approximate 45-minute roundtrip ride.

(University League and Plato members may register if space is available)
